Abraham Lincoln Teachers Recognized by Garlic Jim's!
Everett, WA (June 16, 2011) – The Simi Valley Garlic Jim’s Famous Gourmet Pizza is pleased to announce the local winners of a pizza party to celebrate National Pizza Party Day. Mrs. Susan Hise and Mrs. Julie Kirby are co-teachers of a third grade class at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School in Simi Valley. They and their class were the recipients of a pizza party celebrating both National Pizza Party Day and the end of the school year. The teachers were nominated by Andrea, a parent who has a son in the class. Andrea said, “They do an excellent job on coordinating their efforts and making a uniform curriculum so the kids do not suffer from having different teachers. They make the class educational, fun, and exciting.” Bryan Baker, local owner of the Simi Valley Garlic Jim’s delivered the pizzas to the classroom and commented, “I am so pleased to be honoring Mrs. Hise and Mrs. Kirby. Donating an end-of-the-year pizza party to such outstanding educators is a small gesture that honors their work with our community’s children. As Andrea said, it’s important that school be fun and exciting!”

It’s exciting that Garlic Jim’s can honor some teachers in even a small way for their work with the children of our customers.” National Pizza Party Day is listed in Chase’s Book of Events and is an opportunity to celebrate pizza and its importance in our national culture. Garlic Jim’s uses National Pizza Party Day to honor deserving teachers in the communities where our stores are located. National Pizza Party Day is held the third Friday of May every year. The winning parties do not need to be held on this day. Instead we give the winning teachers flexibility to hold their parties at times most convenient to the schedules of their classrooms.
